Visits: Once a week or more frequently as needed
Each visit typically includes:
Prenatal Care
- Comprehensive health, obstetric, gynecologic, and psychosocial history
- Risk screening and informed consent for out-of-hospital care
- Dating by LMP ± ultrasound if indicated
- Baseline vitals, weight, and labs
- Nutrition, lifestyle, and early pregnancy education
- Establish care plan and consultation/referral criteria
- Blood pressure, weight, and general maternal and fetal wellbeing
- Fetal heart tones
- Fundal height and fetal position
- Review of symptoms and emotional health
- Review of labs and test results
- Nutrition and lifestyle counseling
- Ongoing risk assessment
- Education (physiology of pregnancy, warning signs, preparation for birth)
Postpartum Care
- Home visits in the first days postpartum (commonly 24–48 hours)
- Follow-up visits at:
- 1 day, 3 days, 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 6 weeks
- Physical recovery assessment
- Emotional and mental health screening
- Infant feeding and growth support
- Family planning and health education
Newborn Care
- Support for normal transition (skin-to-skin, warmth, delayed cord clamping)
- Initial newborn assessment and monitoring
- Complete newborn exam
- Weight and feeding assessment
- Newborn medications and screenings, (as chosen by the family)
- Breastfeeding/ lactation support
- Ongoing monitoring of growth, feeding, and development
- Continued parent education and support
- Guidance on sleep, soothing, and newborn behavior
- Referrals and coordination of care as needed
- Transition planning to a pediatric provider
How much does a Midwife cost?
At MOMMS, we believe that every family deserves access to quality midwifery care. To accommodate a range of financial situations, we offer a sliding scale fee structure based on your household income. Our sliding scale ranges between $3,450 and $6,500 (not including taxes/fees). We also accept Medicaid/OHP for those who qualify.
Services Included:
- Comprehensive prenatal care
- Labor and birth attendance
- Emergency care and access to life-saving equipment and medication
- Newborn care up to 6 weeks after birth
- Postpartum care up to 6 weeks after birth
- Breastfeeding support and more!
How the Sliding Scale Works:
- The sliding scale is based on your total household income*.
- We encourage you to choose the fee that aligns with your financial situation.
- Please make sure you can fully make your payments that reflect on your agreed payment plan.

Payment Plans

- Payment plans are available to help spread the cost over the course of your pregnancy.
- The non-refundable retainer fee is required at the time of establishing care to secure your spot with our practice. This fee is expected to be paid upon the first prenatal visit.
- The remaining balance can be paid in monthly installments or as a lump sum.
